Modern Language Map

The Modern Language Association has created an interactive map, based on U.S. Census statistics, of languages spoken in the United States. The map allows the user to look at individual states as well as the entire U.S. Check it out here.

New Shepard's Feature Available in LexisNexis

Sarah Bigler reports there is a new feature available in Lexis. Here's her summary of Shepard's(r) BriefCheck:

Citation of Unpublished Federal Opinions

Tony Mauro reports that the Supreme Court has adopted a rule that allows the citation of unpublished opinions in the federal courts. The proposed rule will take effect unless the Congress acts to prevent it. Read the proposed amendments to Federal Rule 32.1 here.
